Interfaces for accessibility and integration

People with disabilities and older persons experience difficulties
when interacting with new technologies. These problems can often be
overcome if products and services are designed in such a way that individuals
can personalise the interface and the method of interaction. When the
interfaces are not flexible enough, it is necessary to consider the
use of assistive devices. Designing appropriate interfacing between
assistive technologies and mainstream technologies is a critical element
for developing products and services that are accessible for all citizens
in order to achieve full integration in the Information Society.
